Abstract:
This research aims to 1) study the beliefs and Latent Rituals in the Buddhist. 2) study the factors affecting the beliefs in Latent rituals in the Buddhists and 3) analyze the value of Latent rituals in the Buddhists : A case Study in Chiang Rai Municipality Area, Muang District, Chiang Rai Province. The Sample population include & Monks & persons which is Organizer, Group of pray in new year day bo
persons and Group ever join latent rituals 100 persons. Total population are 170 peoples. By Methodology is Mixed Method Research Model between Qualitative and Quantitative research by Field survey a levels include 1) Documentary Research 2) Qualitative research and 3) Quantitative research. Storage device are Questionnaire and In-Dept interview. The research found that: Most population are females, Most 30-40 years old, Most are employee, most has Lower secondary education, Earnings less than 10,000 Baht, most ever a times join latent rituals, In the blessing Most Never succeeded, In participation Latent rituals 4 things Most ever join Thavay Tung Ngern Tung Thong, In the blessing Most blessing to good healthy, In situation invite to join latent rituals Most is only practice follow the tradition , and most people make for myself. Internal factors mean a belief in the person is a factors to belief latent rituals can Make become an authority (x̄= 3.93), Make to get a good job (x̄=3.86), longer age than general person (x̄=3.79), Make mercy great (x̄=3.72), Make it safe (x̄=3.33), Popular (x̄=3.31), Rich (x̄=3.00), Have a good luck (x̄=2.99), have person to support (x̄=2.98), Happiness (x̄=2.53) and Have a treasure (x̄=2.44) respectively. External factors Mean is External Persuasion Communication make person need to join the Latent rituals. The External factors to make person want join respectively include First is belief about that to has Holiness (x̄=3.59 ), support by Public relations x̄=3.17), The ritualist is a Monk (x̄=3.17), Nightmare (x̄=3.08), The agency
itself is organized (x̄= 3.08), Tradition (x̄=3.06), Bad luck (x̄=3.05), Special day (x̄=2.99), The ritualist is a People (x̄=2.97l), Sick relatives (x̄=2.94) and Myself sick (x̄=2.90). The value of the latent rituals include : 1) Cultural values such as Psychic, Traditional and Social capital 2) Lifestyle values such as unity, participation and Peace in the community and 3) Economic values such as career, income and Buddhist Tourism.
