Feasibility design of 180 kWp photovoltaic grid connected system for a future project in a Thai Technological University
Abstract:
This paper proposed a feasibility design
for a future project of Photovoltaic (PV) grid
connected system that could be installed at
Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi
(RMUTT) located in Pathumthani province of
Thailand. The PV array size is based on the area of
selected location and some relevant parameters. In this
work, PVsyst 7.2 software was used to simulate and
analyze the PV grid connected system sizing and
performance of the system in terms of produced
energy, system losses and final yield of output
produced energy. Accordingly, a 180 kWp PV grid
connected system was capacity of the system from
simulation based on the selected area of 1,100 m2
approximately within RMUTT where to be considered
for the PV grid connected system installation in the
future. The total number of modules in this PV grid
connected system is 600. Each PV module has 300 Wp
and there is also 2×120 kW grid tie inverter 3 phase 4
wires 380/220 V 50 Hz. For the analysis of the
performance can be shortly addressed that produced
energy or inverter output energy from the main results
for this simulation with PVsyst 7.2 software was about
3.86 kWh/kWp/day, total system loss, PV array loss
and the ratio of performance in this system were 0.11,
0.75 kWh/kWp/day and 0.819 respectively.
