An intelligent system for identifying feasible routes for truck routing problem : an application to a Thai Adhesive and Sealant Company (ATASC)
Abstract:
This thesis proposes an algorithm implemented in a web application to find a feasible route for planning in truck transportation. The logistic route planning problem has attracted much attention ; however, most previous researches are not directly applicable to this problem because practical logistic constraints such as the width of the road or the height of the tunnel are not considered. Moreover, the basic needs of drivers, such as rest breaks and lunch breaks, are also included in the delivery time calculation. The web application has a large number of trials that have been compared with a database for real-time transportation. The results from a case study of Thai Adhesive and Sealant Company show a significant improvement, about thirty-five percent, in prediction accuracy, while the error rate decreases. Furthermore, this application can be applied to other industries that require feasible truck logistics planning
