The compatibility of the database from the standard data set (52 files) for the value-based health care referenced by ICHOM in diabetes mellitus and hypertension
Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to study the compatibility of the diabetes mellitus and hypertension from the 52 standard data sets were used as data sources for the indicators ICHOM by mixed method research model which is quantitative and qualitative research. A database study was conducted from October 2017 to September 2018 from two primary care units and interviews with relevant practitioners. The results showed that compatibility of patient databases and data sources for the indicators ICHOM in diabetes mellitus in unit A and unit B groups were compatible with 21 indicators and 33 indicators, or accounted for 31.34% and 49.25%, respectively. In the hypertension group, unit A and unit B were compatible with 14 indicators and 18 indicators, or accounted for 31.11% and 40.00%, respectively. And the results of the interview by including the opinions of the patient's current indicator concluded that it is useful and sufficient By looking at the service recipient's perspective, it is mainly that the database is sufficient for health promotion services, disease prevention, primary medical treatment. and rejuvenate the body In addition, from the point of view of the service providers themselves, if reducing the recording of metrics that are redundant with the data that has already recorded data, it will reduce the workload and make the important indicators more quality. The standard 52-file dataset cannot be used for longitudinal data analysis of ICHOM indicators. This is where incompatibility with the ICHOM indicators is found, but the ICHOM indicators are only initial conditions and factors to enable them to be adapted based on the context of countries, regions, and differences in the number of patients and providences. If applied to the Thai context, it may be necessary to restructure the standard 52 files to be complete and accurate. There should also be a clear implementation goal.
