Abstract: The objective of this research is to investigate the effect of Ziegler-Natta catalyst preparation on ethylene polymerization with varying not only synthesis methodology, physical and chemical treatment, but also comonomer type, i.e., 1-butene and 1-hexene. For the comonomer concentrations used in this study, they are 0.25 and 0.5 mol in order to obtain HDPE polymer. The polymer is mainly characterized by density gradient tube and GPC-IRD in order to see the density and comonomer incorporation. It is found that when the concentration of comonomer is increased, the density of prepared polymer by using the chemical treatment is lower than the physical one for both types and quantities of comonomers. For the value of CH3/1000C, the results showed that the bulk CH3/1000C is increased when the amount of comonomer is increased. In addition, the bulk CH3/1000C of polymer from chemical treatment catalyst is higher than the physical one for both types and quantities of comonomer. This information proves that Ziegler-Natta catalyst prepared via chemical treatment can provide the better polymer properties especially comonomer incorporation
