Abstract:
This paper deals with determining an appropriate method for determination of
Tooling Part level for supply machines of automotive manufacturing. Four methods
namely, ABC analysis, Economic Order Quantity, Reorder Point and Automatic
notification were applied. First, the ABC analysis was applied in order to get the most
important products to analyze. Second, the EOQ methods were applied in order to
get an optimal order quantity. Third, the ROP methods were applied in order to get a reorder point. Finally, automatic notification were implement to user who have to
know message alert. Total inventory cost of the existing method and new method
were compared to determine the effectiveness of the proposed method. The results
clearly show that each product (from ABC analysis) required different EOQ methods to obtain the minimized inventory cost. Therefore, an appropriate method must be
carefully considered and selected. By applying new method, the total inventory cost
can be reduced about 30 minute per day with total cost 20,250 THB/Year, while its
cab be reduction cost of ordering 40,000 THB/Year.
