Abstract:
This works objectives were to prepare photocatalytic TiO2@SiO2 composite with the sol-gel method for degradation of organic pollutants, as well as foul odors. To compare the performance of the different particles, TiO2
and SiO2 were prepared by namely microwave-assisted synthesis and commercial. The properties of samples were
characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, BET, and TGA analysis. The FTIR analysis and UVvisible spectroscopy
showed that the doped sample shows a slight shift representing the complete synthesis of the catalyst. The
photocatalytic activity of catalysts was evaluated by photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) under UV light. There are also studies incorporated into the polymer films coat studying the degradation of MB and volatile fatty acids (VFAs) under UV light. In methods showed the simplest to prepare films coat in a single step, a method for degradation and can be used in a wide variety of applications for coating products to reduce unwanted odors
