Abstract:
This research aimed to study the smoking behavior of students in the medical faculty university upper northern, Thailand. Using the survey research. The samples were obtained from stratified sampling random 345 people of studying at the Faculty of Medicine. The data was conducted by interviews and analyzed by using mean percentage and Binary Logistic Regression. The results showed that the samples were smoking 64 people 18.55%. Smoker were male 47 people 16.62%, females 15 people 4.34%. The most type of cigarette that the students were smoking by e-cigarette 76.56%, brand was KNIGHT (Blue), 45.31%. The habited smoking was smoke everyday 76.56% for relieve stress 84.38%. The most opportunity smoke was drinking alcohol 20.34%. The source to buy cigarette from general store 65.63% The relationship of predisposing factors enabling factors and reinforcing factors smoking /nonsmoking found that predisposing factors such as gender, field of study, parents' income, the nature of the residence Knowledge and attitudes. The enabling factors is the to receive advertising information. Going to the entertainment place, drinking alcohol and access to cigarette. And reinforcing factors are their friend influence, or some people in their family smoke, or the teacher to smoke related to smoking initiation at the 0.05 The findings from the research revealed that Smoking behaviors among college students were both male and female. And most of the cigarettes smoked are e-cigarettes. which can reach many factors, including leading factors contributing factors and enhancing factors Therefore, educational institutions should seek more specific campaign channels. especially smoking e-cigarettes.
