Abstract:
This article is the result of the research on organizational belongingness of the supporting staffs, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University. Main purposes were to study individual characteristics, to identify factors relating to their organizational belongingness, to find out the degree of the supporting staffs organizational belongingness and to propose plausible suggestions in order to enhance the degree of organizational belongingness among the supporting staff in the Faculty of Science. The aforementioned research was done by questionnaires and the sample were 195 supporting staffs obtained by simple random sampling. Statistical analyses use were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test and Pearsons Correlation.
The results show that most of the supporting staffs were female, aged between 21-40 years, married, holding bachelor degree and work experienced around 1-10 year. The organizational belongingness and work experiences of the supporting staffs of Faculty of Science was at the high level whereas their opinions towards job characteristics show at moderate level. When considering individual factors, the results point out that age, marital status and period of work experiences do affect the degree of organizational belongingness. Based on Pearsons correlation method, the results represent that job characteristics and work experiences are positively correlated with the organizational belongingness.
