A synthesis of graduate degree study research in defining concepts and develop research making strategies from Burapha University, Faculty of Education
Abstract:
The objectives of this research were to; 1) synthesize research reports 2) analyzeresearch concepts and 3) develop research strategies for the Graduate school of BuraphaUniversity, Faculty of Education. The samples of this study were 396 graduate research papers at the faculty of Education, Burapha University from those student who studied in PLAN A curriculum in the academic year 2006 to 2015. The research papers have been published on the online system of the Thai Library Integrated System (ThaiLIS). The research instruments in this study were the research paper data records; a research qualification assessment; an appropriate conceptual framework assessment; and focus group guideline questions. The qualitative data analysis was a content analysistechnique. The focus group technique was applied in order to develop research-makingstrategies. The finding was divided into three parts:1. The results of the research synthesis revealed that the overall congruence of both Master degree and Doctoral degree research papers qualifications were at good levels. When considering the level of research quality, it was found that the papers ranged from excellent, good, fair, or quite low levels. The low qualification of the research papers was at the lowest levels. There were two aspects with results in excellent levels: the analytical data aspect and the research paper data presentation aspect. There were four qualification aspects with results in good levels: research meth-odology, introduction, literature review and the conclusion and recommendation. On the contrary, there was no aspect that was lower than good level. The synthesized results revealed that there were nine characteristics of the data variables affecting the differences of the research papersqualifications, both the Master and the Doctoraldegrees, with a significance of .05 as follows: academic major, graduation year, research design, fundamental theories, research hypothesis types, sampling methods, socio-economics of sampling group, computerizing in data analysis, and a statistical basic assumption test. There were five positive correlation variables, both the Master and the Doctoral degrees, with a significance of .05 as follows: the dependent variables, independent variables, endogenous variables, number of research hypothesis, and number of methods in data analyses. There were three negative correlation variables, found in the Master degree only, with a significance of .05 as follows: the number of academic years at study, research variables, and numbers of research instruments. 2. Specialists confirmed that all of the results of the conceptual frameworks analysis were congruent with the accuracy and applicable to the Master and Doctoral degree requirements. The specialists opinions were also congruent with the set researchqualification assessment. Consequently, the results of conceptual framework analyses depicted the importance of limitations and basic research assumption writing and an operation towards the basic assumption by using a parametric statistical analysis. 3. According to the developing research-making strategies, it was found that there were 15 strategies that can be divided into three groups: 1) Lectures and classroomlevel concerned strategies 2) Curriculum management level strategies and 3) An organizational management level strategies.
