Charismatic leadership of chief of division on personnel perception affecting organizational citizenship behavior, Department of Health, The Ministry of Public Health
Abstract:
This is explanatory research with cross-sectional survey. The objectives are to find the association of charismatic leadership with the chiefs of divisions according to the perceptions of personnel and organization citizenship behavior of the personnel at the Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health. The sample group were 383 government officers at the Department of Health at every level who were working at the centre and provinces, selected using easy random sampling. Data were collected by questionnaires and analyzed using Pearson's Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Regression Analysis. The results revealed that government officers at the Department of Health; Ministry of Public Health have high level organizational citizenship behavior according to the perceptions of personnel at the Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health. Charismatic leadership of division chiefs has a positive association with organizational citizenship behaviors of personnel at the Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health (r = 0.258, p-value . 0.05). Charismatic leadership of division chiefs can explain 6.40% of the variance in organizational citizenship behaviors of personnel at the Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health (Adjusted R2 = 0.064, p-value < 0.001). According to this research, high level administration should support and encourage division chiefs to develop themselves in order to have a vision on implementation, to have creative ideas in working, to have speech skills training, and to train their listening skills, which will increase the organizational citizenship behaviors of personnel at the Department of Health.
