Needs assessment of teachers towards the practice of the bilingual elementary schools (Thai-English program) under the Department of Education Bangkok Metropolitan Administration
Abstract:
This research objectives were 1) to study actual perception and anticipate perception of teachers towards the practice of the bilingual schools under the Department of Education Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. 2) in order to needs assessment of teachers towards the practice of the bilingual schools under the Department of Education Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. 3) To compare needs assessment of teachers towards the Practice of bilingual schools under the Department of Education Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. Sample group of this research consists of the school director and teachers in the bilingual schools, a total of 338 persons by multi-stage random sampling. The tools of research is rating scale, which the Item-Objective Congruence Index is at 0.80-1.00 and the confidence of an actual perception is equal to 0.973 and the confidence of the perception anticipation is equal to 0.887. Analysis data by mean, standard deviation, modified priority needs index and One-Way ANOVA. The results of research that 1) the actual perception of large, moderate and small school is at a high level (x̅ = 4.14, SD = 0.46), (x̅ = 3.97, SD = 0.23) and (x̅ = 3.86, SD = 0.29). The anticipate perception of large and moderate school is at a highest level (x̅ = 4.68, SD = 0.39) and (x̅ = 4.56, SD = 0.18) and the small school is at a high level (x̅ = 4.48, SD = 0.19). 2) Teachers in the large schools have to needs for arrangement of lessons, exercises, supplementary books in the bilingual schools (PNI = 0.18). Teachers in the moderate schools have to needs for teaching and learning management in the bilingual schools and arrangement of lessons, exercises, supplementary books in the bilingual schools (PNI = 0.19). and teachers in the small schools have to needs for arrangement of lessons, exercises, supplementary books in the bilingual schools (PNI = 0.24), and 3) Teachers have need overall are not different. When analyzing each aspect, it was found that there are needs for organizing a curriculum and structure for managing bilingual schools. The large and small schools, the moderate and small schools significantly at the level of 0.05
