Abstract:
The objectives of this research are 1) to study the local production technology for rattan furniture design 2) to design rattan furniture 3) to evaluate consumer satisfaction towards the rattan furniture style. The tools used in the research were interview form, opinion form and satisfaction assessment form. By using the data obtained to analyze with the conceptual framework for design with the principle of applying the principle of separation from consumers requests and developing patterns by using Lateral Thinking and Parallel Thinking: Edward De Bono 1970. Which used in conjunction with Nine Square (Nine Square: Apichak Sinthuphak 2015) to create the concept of design and use in the design of rattan furniture by using statistical methods such as percentage, Average (Mean:) and Standard Deviation: S.D.). The results of the study showed that the results from the study of local production technology for furniture design were consistent in terms of strength, safety factor, functional factor and aesthetic factor. The results of the research in the selection of models found that professionals and experts in design and materials are agree with the third format. It is appropriate to make the prototype at the most appropriate level, with the mean (= 4.66), standard deviation (SD = 0.43). The results of consumer satisfaction evaluation rattan furniture style with the highest level of satisfaction (= 4.52), standard deviation (S.D. = 0.19)
