Needs assessment of teachers towards the process of teaching practice supervision for schools in The Secondary Education Service Area 6, Samutprakarn province
Abstract:
The objectives of this research were 1) to study the teachers opinions on the current conditions and the expected conditions towards the process of teaching practice supervision for schools in the secondary education service area 6, Samutprakarn province; 2) to assess the needs of those teachers on the teaching supervision process in this area; and 3) to study relationships of the teachers needs on the teaching supervision process. The samples selected by multi-stage sampling method were 410 teachers of the schools in the secondary education service area 6, Samutprakarn province. This investigation used the 5-rating scale questionnaires proven by content validity analysis showing the reliability value at .84 for the whole items, .84 for the current conditions items and .76 for the expected conditions items. The data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, modified priority index (PNImodified) and Pearsons product moment correlation coefficient. The results revealed that : 1) the teachers in the schools in the secondary education service area 6, Samutprakarn province had a real level of practice towards the process of teaching practice supervision at a moderate level (x̄ = 3.49, SD = 0.35) and had a level of expectation at the highest (x̄ = 4.86, SD = 0.34); 2) the teachers had the need assessment of teachers towards the process of teaching practice supervision in creating media and tools as the first priority, planning the second, practice the third; and 3) there were high relationships of the teachers needs on the teaching supervision process including planning, media creation and tools, practice, evaluation and results reports at a high level with statistical significance of 0.01 level.
