The organizational health affecting the academic administrative effectiveness of basic education schools under the supervision of Bangkok metropolitan administration, Krungthon Tai cluster
Abstract:
The objectives of this study were: (1) to investigate the level of the organizational health in basic education schools under the supervision of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), Krungthon Tai Group; (2) to examine the level effectiveness of academic administration; and (3) to study the factors affecting to the effectiveness of academic administration in those schools. The population was from 96 schools in Krungthon Tai Group. The sample consisted of 360 directors and teachers, randomly sampled by means of Stratified Sampling and based on the proportion of population. The data was statistically analyzed by means of frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The correlations among independent variables were checked by linear regression analysis and Pearson
Product Moment Correlation Coefficient, while quantitative variables, Tolerance and VIF were checked by linear correlation analysis. The relations of variables affecting academic administration was analyzed by Stepwise multiple regression analysis, while
the format of independent variables was examined by equation. The findings found that: 1. The majority of the respondents were female, aged from 31-40 years old, holding Bachelor degrees, and have been in service for more than 16 years. 2. The level of operation of executives and teachers concerning organization health overall was at the highest level. When considering individual aspect, living together among teachers was at the highest level, followed by leadership of executives, target clarity, academic concentration, and strength of schools, respectively, while resource allocation was at high level. 3. The level of operation of executives and teachers on the effectiveness of academic administration overall was at the highest level. When considering individual aspect, curriculum management was at the highest level, followed by evaluation and assessment, and learning-teaching management, respectively, while academic planning and education supervision were at high level. 4. Organization health had an influence on the effectiveness of academic administration of basic education schools in terms of academic concentration, target clarity, leadership of executives and resource allocation. 5. The factors of organization health affecting the effectiveness of academic administration in basic education schools according to regression equation consisted of academic emphasis aspect (X6), target clarity aspect (X1), leadership of executives aspect (X3) and resource allocation aspect (X4). The regression equation in standard scores was as follows: Y = .459X6 + .228 X1 + .147X3 + .132X4, having coefficient forecasting value at 66.0 %.
