Abstract:
The purpose of this cross-sectional descriptive study was coping behavior to obesity or overweight and factors associate with coping behavior to obesity or overweight among secondary school grade 9 in Bangkok Metropolis. The subjects were 701 secondary school grade 9. The research instruments were a demographic questionanaire, questionnaire about attitude of obesity or overweight, self-concept scale, questionnaire about weight loss behavior and adolescent coping scale (ACS) and with could describe by body mass index there would get the obesity or overweight sample group. The data analyzed be using descriptive statics, independence t-test, Pearson, multiple regression. The research finding indicated of coping behavior to obesity or overweight were appropriate at a medium level (67.8%). 16.9% and 15.3% of samples had low and high scores of coping behavior to obesity or overweight. The associated factors of coping behavior to obesity or overweight remained significant (p-value<0.05) were weight and height. The factors significantly predicted coping behavior to obesity or overweight after performing multiple regression analysis were height.
