Abstract:
The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the adoption in Cambodian students of Thai students; 2) to study the adaption od Cambodian students enrolling schools in Surin province; 3) to study an administrative system of school with Cambodian students in Surin province; and 4) to propose a development guideline for schools with Cambodian students in Surin province By defining specific areas where Bandan school Tambon Bandanpathana Kap Choeng district Surin province is the qualitative research by cooperative observation, in-depth interviews, group discussion and group keywords.
The Study found that:
According to adoption in Cambodian students of Thai students, there are 5 stages of Adoption. First is the stage of logical perception that based on 3 reasons for the Adoption including: 1) foreign students enroll Thai schools legally according to Thailands law, 2) a Thai society is a bountiful and compassionate society; and 3) most Cambodian students are from a family with a good economic status. Second is the stage of interest where activities where activities to generate interest between Thai Cambodian students are provided through educational and games. Third is the stage of evaluation where an economic status, a willingness to learn, and context of language are evaluated. Fourth is the stage experiment which shoes that Thai and Cambodian students are very friendly in terms of race, region, and culture. Fifth is the stage of Adoption which shows a good relationship among people living along the border of Thailand and Cambodia.
Owing to the adaptation a good Cambodian students, there 2 types of adaptation including the complete adaptation and the incomplete adaptation. Specifically, the complete adaptation comprises of the adaptation according to: 1) the building and location; 2) the warmth of administrators, teachers, and stage officers, 3) the 3 main language for communication (Khmer Lao and Kui, language), the classmates, 5) the support from school, and relationships with parents. On the hand, the incomplete adaptation consist of the 5 adaptation relating to: 1) textbooks and exercise; 2) attitudes of some classmates or other students in a schools; 3) homework and assignments, 4) parents expectation; and school travelling.
Due to the administrative system, the study revealed that there are 5 aspects relating to the administrative system of this study. 1) General administration foreign students have registered and supported by the government as Thai students. 2) Personnel administration a responsibility of teacher is as usual. 3) Academic administration extra courses or subjects are provide for Cambodian students. 4) Budget administration Cambodian students are provided with subsidies and privileges as Thai students. 5) Border coordination Cambodian students can travel between Thailand and Cambodia conveniently.
Finally, some recommendations are proposed basing on this presents study. 1) Cambodian students should be facilitated for a school travelling. 2) Basic information about family (e.g. a school admission or a subsidy) should be provided clearly. 3) A travelling without official documents for bureau itinerary to visit Cambodian students of Thai teachers in Cambodia should be allowed to facilitate Thai teachers.
