Abstract:
This research aims (1) to study on the status of various area and land use on water quality in Saneng creek, Surin province. Water samples were collected at four sampling points: 1) upstream agricultural activities; 2) midstream agricultural activities that were located in rural area; 3) and 4) downstream business activities that were located in urban area. Samples were collected during the dry and rainy season in three times in each season by comparing sample results with Thailands water quality standard. (2) To share idea of surface water management and water quality monitoring workshop to students and thee communities. (3) To build community networks to preserve the Saneng creek. The results of surface quality all of the point samples were standard level accept total P of all samples in dry season were over standard level. Furthermore the result of the turbidity and transparency parameters from downstream in dry season over standard level because during the dry season there is less rainfall than in the rainy season. As a result, the concentration of dissolved materials reduces during the rainy season. Moreover, downstream of urban areas (3 point) were most polluted because the restaurant, resort and house were located near the creek. The exchanges of ideas between researchers and people in the community about the quality of creek water Saneng. So the people live in communities were confederate to create the natural resources conservation project for example the research project for local, rural resource center the project and important of local wisdom was Tomsathurng which it cloud to manage local natural resources too.
