Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to study the energy usage of rural community in Surin Province. To study the guidelines for suitable energy management of rural community in Surin Province. And, the energy self-reliance of the community and to study the trend of energy conservation and development for sustainable self-reliance to construct a proposal for policies of energy self-reliance of community. The research techniques are qualitative method with ethnography, quantitative methods to analyze factor of energy self-reliance of community and qualitative method with A-I-C. The areas of researches are Surin province. The result of this research can be summarized as follows:
Background and dynamic of energy usage of rural communities in Surin Province. Found that the type of energy used to heat or used for cooking in households of people in the use of firewood and charcoal. In most of the energy, which is renewable. including the use of firewood and charcoal. In most of the energy, in the form of new energy supplies, including the electrification of LPG. Most of it is still a different type of fuel used concurrently with the use of thermal energy for cooking, the use of charcoal with LPG. Transportation and logistics, in the past, animal power, the ox yoke. When technology into the community, the change comes from animal energy, energy technology instead, a bicycle, motorcycle and cay, respectively. Power in occupation of the house, from the buffalo to low and oxen yoke of baggage. Later, it is used tractor, car threshing and currently has a hook and threshing. In addition to making people pay for the purchase of tractors and to pay for fuel.it must have cost to buy chemical fertilizers as well.
Moreover, quantitative method was applied by using factor analysis technique. The factor of self-reliance in community energy were consisted of 4 areas; 1) energy inheriting by ancestor intellect. 2) Natural energy sources. 3) Energy knowledge by government section. And 4) heat energy from community forest.
As the research results, the self-reliance of community energy can be divided in 4 policies to promote and develop sustainable energy as follows; 1) energy inheriting by ancestor intellect. 2) Natural energy sources. 3) Enhance energy knowledge by government. And 4) Promote heat energy from community forest. The advantage of these policies are suitable for rural communities due to sustainable self-reliance of energy of community.
