Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to select the best logistics mode for
different scope size of companies. The study collected data by interview and
questionnaire survey.
In-depth interviews with interviewees from large companies, medium
companies and small companies, were used to get the factors that affect the different
scope size of company selection of logistics mode. The data collected show that
logistics speed, logistics safety, logistics cost, logistics real-time information, and
logistics service are factors which affect small companies to select logistics mode;
logistics speed, logistics safety, logistics cost, logistics real-time information, logistics
service, and logistics technology are factors which affect medium companies to select
logistics mode; logistics speed, logistics safety, logistics cost, logistics real-time
information, logistics service, and logistics technology are factors which affect large
companies to select logistics mode.
After that, a questionnaire survey was conducted using three sets of data
with interviewees engaged in companies of different sizes in Kunming. Data was
analyzed using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Expert Choice Program, and it
was found that third-party logistics mode is the best mode for small and medium
companies, and self-run logistics mode is the best mode for large companies.
