Effectiveness of personal fall arrest system improvement accord ing to osha29 cfr1926.502 guidelines influencing on roof installation staff behavior in an installation company, Chonburi province
Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to compare the safety behaviors of the seat belt
brackets of the roof installation workers on the roof structure of a roof installation company in
Chonburi province. The total population is 80 people. By improving the personal fall arrest
system To be installed on the temporary walk way sheet used in operations on And can be moved
to the operating area on the roof structure thoroughly. By using V-shaped steel, used as an
anchorage, mounted to temporary walk way sheet using screws attached to the structure Use a 6
mm diameter rope sling to be a life line. Install between the anchor points. And used together
with the body harness that has a connector and a lanyard attached to the set. And has tested the
strength of the personal fall arrest system that can hold the weight (140 kg) to float freely and
does not cause damage to the system being blocked.
The results showed that most of the employees were between 21-30 years old and
50 percent had work experience between 1-5 years, 67.3 percent had risk before improving at
level 4. Risk after improvement in level 2. And from the supervisory observation data on safety
behavior regarding seat belt braces before and after improvement found that The difference
between the average before andafter the improvement in the 2nd week, before and after the
