Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to evaluate a training project on modern local leaders in terms
of its context, input, process, and output. Also, this study aimed at examining problems and suggestions for the
improvement of the service offered by the Office of Academic Service, Burapha University.
The instrument used to collect the data in this study was a questionnaire. The subjects were
recruited by a simple random sampling technique. The collected data was analyzed by the descriptive statistics,
including mean, percentage, and standard deviation. Also, an in-depth interview and a content analysis
technique were used.
The results of the study revealed that the majority of the respondents were female, aged 41-50,
holding a masters degree, and being government officers with a work length of 13 years onwards.
The results of this study based on the subjects opinions indicated that they considered the training
project on modern local leaders effective, achieving its purposes in four aspects. Specifically, the aspects in
relation to the project context and output were rated at a very good level. The aspects of input and process of the
training project were rated at a good level. Regarding the results based on the opinion of the organizer, the
Office of Academic Service, they also considered the project context, output, and input successful as planned
despite the fact that the project process needed an improvement. Considering the aspects of project monitoring
and evaluating, they also needed an improvement. For the suggestions, it was advisable that, prior to organizing
the projects, a need survey and analysis should be conducted. Participation from other sectors should be
encouraged. Also, different channels for publicizing the projects should be made available. Finally, there should
be a study, using a CIPP model to determine important topics and factors when organizing training projects.
