Attitude towards membership of the association of southeast asian nations of Bang phiang subdistrict administrative organization Samut prakarn province
Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to examine attitudes towards membership of the Association of
Southeast Asian Nations among personnel working for Bang Phiang Sub-district Administrative Organization
and to compare their attitudes as classified by gender, age, education, and affiliation. The population
participating in this study was 75 employees working for Bang Phiang Sub-district Administrative Organization.
The instrument used to collect the data was a questionnaire. The descriptive statistical tests used to analyze the
collected data included frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The results of the study revealed that the subjects expressed their attitudes towards membership of
the Association of Southeast Asian Nations at a rather good level (µ = 3.66). Regarding the results based on the
comparisons of the subjects gender, age, education, affiliation , it was shown that female employees working
for Bang Phiang Sub-district Administrative Organization demonstrated a higher level of attitudes towards the
membership of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations than their male counterparts (µ = 3.67). The
subjects, aged 30-39, had a higher level of attitudes towards being the membership of the Association of
Southeast Asian Nations than those, aged 50-59, and 40-49, respectively. Also, the subjects, holding a
bachelors degree or higher (µ = 4.26), had a higher level of attitudes towards being the membership of the
Association of Southeast Asian Nations than those holding a certificate of primary school, diploma, and high
school, respectively. Finally, the subjects working for Division of Public Health and Environment had a higher
level of attitudes towards being the membership of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations than those
working for Division of Education, Religion, and Culture, Division of Finance, Office of Chief Administration
of Sub-district Administrative Organization, and Council of Administration of Sub-district Administrative
Organization, respectively.
