Abstract:
This study aimed to study supply chain management and the efficiency of oil palm plantation which influenced the strength of oil palm plantation enterprises in the eastern region of Thailand. The study was quantitative research. The tool used in the study was a questionnaire. The sample consisted of 380 representatives of the members of the oil palm plantation community in the Eastern Region. The statistics in the study were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. The data were analyzed with SPSS for Windows. The results of each factor revealed that: 1) the overall supply chain management was at a very high level. When each aspect was considered, the factors were in the following order. First was the infrastructure which was followed by labor, raw materials, management, and technology. The last one was finance. 2) The overall oil palm plantation efficiency was at a very high level. When each aspect was put in order, the first efficiency was quantity which was followed by quality, time and expense. 3) The overall strength of the oil palm enterprises in the eastern region was at a very high level. When each of the top management aspects was considered, the first aspect was establishing a network of community enterprises which was followed by the integration of farmers in the community, the promotion of knowledge on the ability of the community, and the strength of self-reliant economic system, and the marketing was the last aspect. From the hypothesis test, it was found that supply chain management and oil palm efficiency had influence on the strength of oil palm enterprises in the eastern region at the .05 statistical significance level. The most influential variable was the efficiency of oil palm plantation (Beta = .357). The second rank was the efficiency of supply chain management (Beta = .357)
