Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to carry out an analysis of general cost and unit cost to patients of health centers in Uthumphon phisai district Si sa ket province for fiscal year 2005. The analysis was base on the providers perspective. Cost center activity criteria were used. Total cost could be separated into main cost. Total cost and indirect cost. In each of these areas, three cost (labour, capital, and material) were examined. Indirect cost will be allocated to absorbing cost center by Simulation equation method. This study was a descriptive study and all health centers were selected. The study population were nine main primary care units and twelve sub primary care units. Data were collected using a self created recording chart. It was found that the average total cost of main primary care units was 13,157,928.79 baht, and the ratio of the component costs (labour cost : material cost : capital cost ) was 6.53 : 5.08 : 1. The average total cost of sub primary care units was 13,879,632.59 baht, and the ratio of the component costs (labour cost : material cost : capital cost ) was 4.99 : 3.19 : 1. The average total cost of main primal care units for Curative care, Maternal and child health, Family planning, lmmunization, Dental care, School health, Health education, Preventive and control disease and Home visit activities were 40.46, 117.35, 93.60, 155.93, 198.44. 108.96, 33.40, 743.07 and 84.58 bath, respectively. The average total cost of sub primary care units for Curative care, Maternal and child health, Family planning, lmmunization, Dental care, School health Health education, Preventive and control disease and Home visit activities were 44.97, 179.96, 90.26, 158.94, 198.65, 117.27, 38.85, 464.69 and 92.84 baht, respectively. The result of this study are used as a guideline for managerial decision making and service and may be beneficial for planning to in crease the efficiency.
