Abstract:
This research was conducted for the following purposes: 1) to study need of critical thinking and blended learning model, 2) to develop a blended learning PIC-DE model. Using simple random sampling in phase 1, were 445 students and teachers at Vocational Institute in year 2018, and cluster random sampling in phase 2, select 80 first year vocational students at Angthong Technical College to participate in experimental group and control group. Research tools were: 1) The need assessment questionnaire which had validity between .60 - 1.00, reliability at .94, 2) Blended learning PIC-DE model which appropriate at high level (x̄=4.49, SD=0.77), efficiency at (E₁/E₂) = 81.26/82.63., the critical thinking test validity between .78 - 1.00, reliability at .88, difficulty at .53 - .77, discrimination at .20 - .53., 3) The achievement test validity between .89 -1.00, reliability at .89, difficulty at .53 - .80, discrimination at .20 - .53. 4) Lesson plans were appropriate at high level (x̄ = 4.38, SD = .84), and work sheets were appropriate at highest level at (x̄ = 4.80, SD = .47). Data were analyzed by content analysis, mean, standard deviation, frequency, percent, PNI(Modified) and one¬-way MANOVA. The results were as follows:
1. Students and teachers of vocational education institutions had the need for critical thinking and blended learning model, with PNI(Modified) = 0.10
2. The blended learning PIC-DE model was appropriate at high level (x̄ = 4.49, SD = .77) and five components, were: Problem (p), Individual Thinking (I), Cooperation Thinking (c), Discussion (D) and Evaluation (E), with efficiency met specified criteria, efficiency was (E₁/E₂) =81.26/82.63.
3. Students of vocational education institutions studying with PIC-DE model have critical thinking and learning achievement higher than normal learning with statistical significance at level of .05.
