Abstract:
The objective of this research was to investigate difference between copper and clay and apply heating methods in ceramic production. Copper and clay are not suggested to be combined due to their natural difference and incompatibility. However, such incompatibility was successfully corrected and mixed together leading to the creation of decorations with strange but attractive patterns and surfaces. The product, a creative fashion, reflects the personal identity and characters as the outcome of creative ideas.
The result revealed that combining copper and clay by heating copper at 900 °C and 1,200 °C could be applied to create ceramic products with different patterns and surfaces. In addition, the patterns and surfaces as well as colors of the products could be changed. This could lead to the creation of fashion accessories, e.g. clothes, bags, shoes, etc. The product with such combination could be designed upon the consumers desire to reflect the consumers identity and characters.
