Abstract:
ABSTRACT
This research aimed to compare: 1) the science learning achievement; and 2) the ability to solve problems creatively by using science learning management based on STEM education of fifth grade students (Prathomsuksa 5) between pretest and posttest, and posttest with the set criteria. The research sample was 24 fifth grade students at Ban Nong Kradi School, Song Phi Nong District, Suphan Buri Province who studied in the first semester of the academic year 2018, derive by cluster random sampling. The research instruments consisted of: 1) 6 lesson plans of science learning management based on STEM education, 4 hours per lesson plan, totaling 24 hours, with validity between 0.80-1.00; 2) a science achievement test with validity of 0.60-1.00, difficulty of 0.37-0.73, discrimination of 0.33-0.67, and reliability of 0.87; 3) a test on ability to solve problems creatively with validity of 1.00, difficulty of 0.37-0.62, discrimination of 0.24-0.47, and reliability of 0.79; 4) an evaluation form for ability to solve problems creatively from tasks with validity of 0.80-1.00 and the reliability of 0.71. The statistics used for data analysis were mean, standard deviation, and t-test.
The findings of this research were as follows:
1. The students science learning achievement after learning by using science learning management based on STEM education was higher than that of before; and higher than the set criteria of 70% with statistical significance at .05 level.
2. The students ability to solve problems creatively after learning by using science learning management based on STEM education was higher than that of before; and higher than the set criteria of 70% with statistical significance at .05 level. The ability to solve problems creatively from tasks was higher than the set criteria of 70% with statistical significance at .05 level.
