Abstract:
The purpose s of this research are to construct the research tool set, ass essment of vocational
qualifications competence in basic skills level in terms of knowledge, skill and affective domain of
2nd year auto-mechanics students in vocational certificate program, and compare the results. The
sampling groups are vocational certificate students in Auto-Mechanics at Phang-nga Technical
College and Wieng Sra Vocational College in 2009 educational year. The samples are 30 students
of each college. The tools are as follows; a knowledge test, a practical skill test, and affective
domain test. The research tool qualification has an index of items objective congruence (IOC) in a
range between 0.85 to 1.0 of every items. The difficulty setting (P) is between 0.20 to 0.80 of every
items and the discrimination (r) value is greater than 0.20 of every items. The reliability of test
which are 0.98, 0.75 and 0.82 respectively. The statistics were used in this research consist of mean ,
standard deviation , percentage and t-test.
The results of the research were as follows ;
1. The results of the theory knowledge assessments, according to the criteria at 60 percentage in
overview the sample groups of Phang-nga Technical College and Wieng Sra Vocational College
have gotten the percentage of average point at 80.10 and 75.77, respectively. In assessments by
objective in terms of safety and working dangerous prevention, tools and using, information sending
and receiving, it found that the sample groups of Phang-nga Technical College and Wieng Sra
Vocational College have the percentage of average point at 83.78 and 76.74, respectively.
2. The results of the practical skills assessments, according to the criteria at 75 percentage, the
sample groups of Phang-nga Technical College and Wieng Sra Vocational College have the
percentage of average point at 90.15 and 88.88, respectively.
3. The results of the affective domain assessments, according to the criteria at 80 percentage,
the sample groups of Phang-nga Technical College and Wieng Sra Vocational College have the
percentage of average point at 91.77 and 89.77, respectively.
4. The comparison of the difference on achievement from the assessment of vocational
qualifications competence between Phang-nga Technical College and Wieng Sra Vocational
College by t(t-test) was found that the difference of statistically significant at the level of 0.05.
