Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study and compare the Open-ended Problems Solving Teaching
Method Pattern with Normal Method Teaching Pattern. The case study of Welding and Sheet
Metal subject in soldering topic of learning, behavior solving problems, Motivation of Achievement,
and Attitude of Learning Open-ended Problem solving pattern. The sample groups were the students
ofthe first level of Certificate of Vocational Education in Machine Shop Department, The Faculty
of Machine, Suratthani Technical College. There were four tools to collect information including
Pretest and Post-test of Learning Achievement Pattern, Authentic Assessment Pattern, Motivation
Achievement Questionnaires, and Attitude of Learning Open-ended Problem Solving. The result of
this research indicated that the efficiency and effectiveness oflearning by using Open-ended
Problem solving teaching plan pattern was higher than lecture teaching plan pattern. The result
studying of Achievement of Learning between two groups was shown not significant at the level of
0.05. The results of Authentic Assessment students have shown the behavior problems solving well.
Finally, the students of Motivation Achievement Learning Open-ended Problem solving were
higher than learning lecture pattern and the Attitudes of Learning students for the open-ended
problems solving pattern were better.
