Abstract:
This thesis studied method of stabilization of Lampang Kaolin by mixing five different chemicals such as Na2SiO3.5H2O ,Na2CO3 ,Na2HPO4 ,Na3PO4 and KOH. Chemicals were added to
the Lampang kaolin mixtures at the content of 2 to 10% by weigth of kaolin. Speciments were activated their polymerization reaction under temperature of 80 degree celcius for 1 and 4 days
then curing its at 3 , 14 , 28 and 56 days. The specimens were twsted for unconfined compressive strength. It was found that the specimens wre proposed to describe the higher strength of
stabilization of the Lampang kaolin. The best mixig chemical substance of sodium compounds and Potassium hydroxide was KOH, wich induced the highest unconfined compressive strength
to the Lampang kaolin as 17.02 - 30.49 MPa. But the strength reduce when curing time increase. From test results, the unconfined compressive strength (UCS) by chemical admixed Na2SiO3.5H2O
has UCS ranging between 2.49 - 4.76 MPa , Na2HPO4 has UCS ranging between 1.08 - 1.56 MPa. , Na2CO3 has UCS ranging between 0.55 - 1.44 MPa. , Na3PO4 has UCS ranging between 0.41 -
0.51 MPa. It was fond that unconfined compressive strength was effect by chemical admixed.
