Abstract:
The purposes of this research 'Efficiency of Pseudostem mixed with wastepaper for build animal testing bedding' to investigate ratio between Pseudo stem and wastepaper for build animal testing bedding and compare with commercial Bedding: corncob and wood shavings. Experiment 2 processes: physical and behavioral satisfaction rat with corncob, wood shavings and banana fiber processing. Physical process banana fiber processing (banana fiber: wastepaper ratio 9:1) had Moisture Content 8.58%, Open pore volume 32.33 ccm, Absorption 646.67%, Apparent porosity 32.33% .It was different was statistically significant at 0.05 level to compare corncob and wood shavings, but Accumulated moisture loss less than other. Total Aflatoxin analysis detect less than 5 ug/kg ,it was mean be safe and no danger for animal (Miyamoto, et.al., 2008), Mould and Yeasts analysis detect less than 10 colony/g, it was mean not found (Nongyao, 2005) and Escherichia coli. Analysis detect less than 3 MPNIg, its mean found growth of bacteria (Nongyao, 2005). Heavy metals test: As 0.03+0.09 (mg/kg), Cd 0.10+0.02 (mg/kg), Cr 2.95+0.04 (mg/kg), Pb 2.55+0.18 (mg/kg) and Ni 1.14+1.68 (mg/kg), it's all not over standard research by Ncube, et. al., 2015. Behavioral satisfaction rat with corncob, wood shavings and banana fiber processing process: All male rats and Female rats like to enter corncob, wood shavings and banana fiber processing no different was statistically significant at 0.05 alpha level, Ammonia in rat all 3 bedding not less than 25 ppm (Domer, et. al., 2012) and Weight of male rats and female rats all 3 bedding not different was statistically significant at 0.05 alpha level. The findings indicated that Banana fiber processing had physical and behavioral was satisfy, it was suitable for build animal testing bedding. Banana fiber processing can actually be used and it can compensate corncob and wood shavings. Then, Banana fiber processing will be new product commercial Bedding too.
