Abstract:
From ninth to fifteenth century AD, the Khmer road system (Angkor to Phimai) was created to serve as expeditions, pilgrimages, and embedded exchange routes. The objectives of this research are (1) To survey The Royal Route (Angkor to Phimai), (2) To create route map and programme for tourists, and (3) To develop prasat tourists guidance systems via the Royal Route. This research was conducted at the temple areas on the Royal Route that starts from Angkor Wat in Cambodia until Phimai Historical Park in Thailand. 16 questionnaires were delivered to the tourists at the temple areas. The result from the respondents showed that 43.75% of tourists recommended to have a map on the webpage, 31.25% of them suggested to publish photos of the different temples and the best time to visit the temples, and 18.75% of them want to see activities and the way to get those temples. The web application was created in order to offer recommendation for tourists. The research also revealed that history, cultural features, natural factors, reception, cost/price, community, friendliness, and ruralization are very attractive with the average () from 3.53 (S.D. =0.88) to 4.40 (S.D. =0.88). There are many other points that were revealed by the respondents with the average () from 3.53 (S.D. =0.96) to 4.40 (S.D. =0.71), such as toilet, natural beauty, architectural and artistic features, and so on.
