Abstract:
Noise pollution is one of the most important environmental problems in the academic
institution. The objective of this research was on environmental noise measurement, provided
contour noise map and evaluation of the environmental noise status in science and technology
building group: Burapha University, Bangsan Campus, Chon Buri province. The noise level in
the study area was measurement by sound level meter (IEC61672-1 Type 2) to calculate the noise
parameters such as, Leq,8hr , Leq,24hr, Ldn and Lx
. The noise contour map provided by ArcGIS
program. The results show that the most of the equivalent sound level in 8 hours (Leq,8hr) and
24 hours (Leq,24hr) were not higher than the standards. The Leq,8 hrvalue in working day and holiday
was in range of 56.75 72.14 dB(A) and 52.92 71.44 dB(A), respectively. The Leq,24 hrvalue
in working day and holiday was in range of 56.64 70.45 dB(A) and 53.49 69.23 dB(A),
respectively. The Ldn in working day was in range of 58.60 72.97 dB(A), while holiday was in
range of 56.54 72.47 dB(A). The L90
, the background noise, of the study area in working day
and holiday was in range of 51.50 -66.10 dB(A) and 46.70 65.70 dB(A), respectively.
The noise contour map show that the center of the study area, which is the academic and office
building, has lower noise level than the edge of the study area. The overall environmental noise
status in the study area was evaluated as of moderate level.
