Abstract:
This research aimed to 1) study the current conditions and methods in risk management of Rajabhat Universities in Bangkok area, 2) develop a risk management model for Rajabhat Universities in Bangkok area, and 3) evaluate the feasibility and utility of the model. This mixed method study employed both qualitative and quantitative methods. The study process comprised 3 phrases: 1) reviewed related literatures, principles, theories and researches, also conducted interviews about risk management, 2) develop the risk management model, and 3) evaluate the feasibility and utility of the risk management model through the analysis of quantitative data using descriptive statistic and the analysis of qualitative data using content analysis.
The results of the research are as follows:
1. The status of risk management of Rajabhat universities in Bangkok area, composes of 8 topics: 1) Internal environment, 2) Objective setting, 3) Event identification, 4) Risk assessment, 5) Risk response, 6) Control activities, 7) Information and communication monitoring, In addition, there are the processes of implementation, a risk management board and internal controlling. Office of Plan and Policy Division is responsible for coordinating departments of the universities, collecting the documents involving risk managements and reporting to the universities and the university council.
The process of risk management consists 3 steps of the outlines and processes of risk management, as follows: Step 1 Appointment of a board of risk management. Step 2 Making of a plan of risk management and annually internal management. Step 3 Monitoring and assessment of the processes of management according to the risk management plan.
2. The developed risk management model for Rajabhat universities in Bangkok area composes of 7 components: 1) Leadership, 2) Internal environment, 3) Objective setting, 4) Risk assessment, 5) Control activities, 6) Information and communication, and 7) Monitoring.
3. The assessment results of the developed model indicates that the risk management model for Rajabhat universities in Bangkok area on 2 aspects are that the developed model has a feasibility at a high level and has a utility at the highest level.
