The study of satisfaction toward Chinese course : the case of Wat Aiyikaram School of Thailand
Abstract:
In recent years, Chinese language education has become the hot topic of Thai
education institutes. However, the student satisfaction towards the learning is low due
to the poor quality of Chinese language teaching caused by the extensive promotion of
Chinese education. Lack of adequate expertise and carefully planned study schemes
has created enormous challenges and threats for Chinese language education in
Thailand. Improving the school management and cultivating the talents that can meet
the market demand is a priority and a necessary task for Thai education industry. This
thesis studies the level of student satisfaction towards Chinese course. The significance
of the school characteristics is reflected in curriculum resources, curriculum system
and management, teacher teaching, student learning cognition and learning
environment. Researcher applied the theory of customer satisfaction to the
characteristics of Thai education to design a questionnaire for Wat Aiyikaram students
and used SPSS 17.0 for statistical analysis. At the same time, the level of student
satisfaction towards Chinese course was calculated. Finally a recommendation was
made to suggest Wat Aiyikaram School in Thailand to improve student satisfaction
level by reforming the curriculum system, strengthening curriculum management,
improving curriculum resources, doubling the teaching and learning style of teachers,
and continuously improving students' cognitive ability.
