Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study the factors affecting the profitability of energy industry and public utility listed companies in the stock exchange of Thailand.
This study used secondary data in order to study the information of the listed companies in the stock exchange of Thailand from 2012 to 2017. The statistics used to analyze data and test hypothesis were mean, standard deviation, and regression analysis multiple correlation.
The results of the study showed that the factors significantly affecting the profitability of energy industry and public utility listed companies in the stock exchange of Thailand were the return on assets, the return on equity ratio, the financial liquidity, and crude oil prices. The sales growth rate, and the financial risk, and the operational efficiency did not affect the profitability of the companies.
