Abstract:
The purpose of this study was aimed to determine the level of integrative motivation in English learning of undergraduate students and to investigate the determinants of English learning in the intercultural classroom which motivated students to learn English. The target group selected by purposive sampling was 39 undergraduates who enrolled in English for recreation course at Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, during the academic year 2016. The research instruments were questionnaires and behavioral observation checklists.The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive methodology and by calculating for percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The research findings showed that the students had a high level of integrative motivation in English learning while studying in the intercultural classroom. Besides, the observers opinions presented the high level of each category of the students behavior during the class. It was obvious that the intercultural classroom could enhance the students integrative motivation in English learning.
