Abstract:
Two sensing three-dimensionally ordered macroporous silica for nitro compounds and aldehyde compounds detection were synthesized. The 3DOM SiO2 for nitro compounds-sensing were prepared by using multi-step grafting, resulting in a N1 3DOM SiO2. For aldehyde sensing 3DOM SiO2, the surface of 3DOM SiO2 were functionalized with aliphatic thiol silane, giving rise to a S1 3DOM SiO2. Preliminary characterizations were carried out using FTIR and TGA techniques. The FTIR spectrum of the S1 3DOM SiO2 exhibited doublet peaks at 2361 and 2358 cm-1 corresponding to S˗H bonds of thiol group. TGA analysis revealed approximately 4.33 percent weight loss due to the decomposition of functionalized aliphatic thiol moieties, while the N1 3DOM SiO2 showed only 3.21 percent weight loss. The FTIR of the N1 3DOM SiO2 exhibited only characteristic vibrations of 3DOM SiO2. Both synthesized 3DOM materials will be employed for nitro compounds and aldehyde compounds detection via gravimetric and colorimetric analysis, respectively
