Abstract:
The objectives of this study were to extract and evaluate the cosmetic activities of Clausena cambodiana leaves extract by maceration with 95% ethanol and DI water. Ethanol and water extracts revealed total phenolic content of 156.53 ± 0.90 and 83.87 ± 0.64 mg GAE/g, respectively. They also exhibited flavonoid contents of 84.10 ± 0.13 and 73.91 ± 0.15 mg QE/g, respectively. The IC50 of tyrosinase inhibitory activities were 9.33 ± 0.04 and 16.47 ± 0.15 µg/mL for
the ethanolic and water extracts, respectively.Glycation inhibitory activity of ethanol extract
was higher than water which were found to be 158.97±1.90 and 191.27±1.89 µg/mL, respectively. For anti-inflammatory activity, the ethanolic extract possessed higher nitric oxide inhibition in
both fibroblast and keratinocyte than that of the water extract. This research revealed that the
C. cambodiana is alternative source for cosmetic active extraction.
