Abstract:
This study aimed to examine mediated roles of friendship quality and peer acceptance in associations between teasing, depression and anxiety with resilience as a moderator in early adolescent. The participants in this study were 433 students aged between 13 - 15 years. The results using mediated moderation analysis were shown that 1. friendship quality could mediate the association between teasing, depression and anxiety. (B = .02, p < .05) 2. Peer acceptance could not mediate the relation between teasing, depression and anxiety. On the other hand, teasing directly associated with peer acceptance directly (B = .13, p < .05) 3. resilience could moderated the relation between friendship quality, depression and anxiety (B = -.13, p < .05). 4. Teasing could explain depression and anxiety directly when control the effect of both mediator roles (B = .36, p < .05). This result suggested that promoting of resilience in adolescents could help teased adolescents handle their situations properly. Ways to buffer teased adolescents from negative outcomes were discussed.
