Abstract:
A good construction management will help to save time in construction which, in turns, will save cost and improve construction quality. This project examined the cost estimates, productivity andquality of resources used in the military engineer's construction of asphaltic concrete road by studying and comparing 3 project teams. The objectives are to determine the suitable working andmanaging resource system in order to improve the construction of asphaltic concrete road. It is found that, among the 3 projects, the lst team was the best in managing the resources by balancingthe number of staffs and ehgineering tools with quantity of work. Moreover, the work schedule corresponded with the existing resources, so the cost in the construction was also the lowest. The 1''team was found to have the highest efficiency due to good morale that resulted from good benefits and superior's attention. From this study, the personnel who caused low efficiency can also beidentified using the 5-minute rating method. The quality of resources in the projects was gathered from questionnaires. It is found that the availability of tools, staff, invento~ya nd work performanceaffected the project's quality. Project management skills of project managers are vital to strengthen motivation and morale of staff.
