Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate private school administrators
opinion about education criteria for performance excellence, considering the suitability of
point value and scoring guideline of 7 criterias : Leadership, Strategic Planning, Student
Stakeholder and Market Focus, Information and Analysis, Faculty and Staff Focus,
Process Management and Organizational Performance Results. The samples, derived from
simple random sampling, were 180 administrators of private schools. The questionnaire,
used for collecting data, was constructed by the researcher. Statistical analysis was
performed in term of frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean and standard deviation. The
findings revealed the following :
1. The suitability of point value of criteria and items in education criteria for
performance excellence in term of the point value of 1000 was found at the highest
level. The point value of 6 out of 7 criteria, was found at the highest level except the
value of 90 points concerning information and analysis which was considered at a high
level. For the point value of 19 items, the suitability of point value of 10 was found at
high level, while the suitability of another 9 was at the highest level.
2. The suitability of the overall scoring guidelines was found at a high level.
The scoring guideline was divided into two evaluation dimensions. Both of dimensions
were leveled into 6 scoring ranges. As the first dimension, an approach-deployment was
used for evaluating 6 criterias. The three scoring ranges were found at the highest level,
while another three was at a high level. As the second one, a result was used for
evaluating organizational performance results criteria. The four scoring ranges were found
at a high level, while another two were at the highest level.
