Abstract:
This mixed method research had purposes: 1) to study current state of students discipline enhancement in basic education schools, Pathum Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office, 2) to construct a model of students discipline enhancement in the basic education schools, and 3) to evaluate the satisfaction of teachers and educational personnel with the constructed model. This research consisted 3 stages; Stage 1: to study current state of students discipline enhancement in basic education schools, Pathum Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office. The samples included 302 teachers and educational personnel in Pathum Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office. Also the in-depth interview with key informants of 10 school administrators by purposive sampling; Stage 2: to construct the students discipline enhancement in basic education schools by reviewing and proving of 17 experts in educational administration; Stage 3: to evaluate the satisfaction with the developed students discipline enhancement model. The research instruments composed the questionnaire, structured interview form and evaluation form. The statistics used in data analysis were percentage, mean, Standard Deviation, and the content analysis.
The findings revealed as follows:
1. The overall current state of students discipline enhancement in basic education schools, Pathum Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office was at a high level in every aspect: coordination, planning, resources sharing, motivation and evaluation, respectively.
2. The developed model on the students discipline enhancement in basic education schools compose of 5 components: 1) learning management policy and curriculum integral of discipline enhancement; 2) school environmental settings that contribute and enhance students discipline; 3) rewarding and recognizing the students with good discipline as a role model for others; 4) creating discipline enhancement network with teachers, families, communities, or other public and private organizations; and 5) systematic monitoring and evaluating discipline enhancement. The evaluation of the model was found that the model had appropriateness and feasibility to apply in the schools at the highest level.
3. The teachers and educational personnel are satisfied with the developed model at a high level.
