Abstract:
The purposes of this study were as follows: 1) to study the effectiveness of the skill practice packages entitled reading comprehension packages by using cooperative learning CIRC technique for Prathomsuksa 6 students with the criteria set at 75/75; 2) to compare the students 'learning achievement before and after learning through the skill practice packages entitled reading comprehension packages by using cooperative learning CIRC technique; 3) to find the out effectiveness index of the skill practice packages entitled reading comprehens ion packages by using cooperative learning CIRC technique; 4) to study the student' satisfaction towards the skill practice packages entitled reading comprehension packages by using cooperative learning CIRC technique. The samples were 30 Prathomsuksa 6/1 students, selected by using simple random sampling through drawing lots. A one group pretest-posttest design of the experiment research was employed in this study. The instruments used in this study were: 1) the 12 reading comprehension packages by using cooperative learning CIRC technique; 2) 12 lesson plans with 2 hours per lesson; 3) learning achievement test before and after using the skill practice packages entitled reading comprehension by using cooperative learning CIRC technique; and 4) a 10-item of 5-rating scale satisfaction questionnaire. The statistics used for analyzing the collected data were percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The hypotheses were tested by using E,/ E, dependent samples t-test and the effectiveness index.
The results were as follows: 1) The skill practice entitled reading comprehension packages by using cooperative learning CIRC technique for Prathomsuksa 6 students had an efficiency (E, / E,) of 89.44 /78.56 which was higher than the criteria set at 75/75 2) Prathomsuksa 6 students who learned by the skill practice packages entitled reading comprehension by using cooperative learning CIRC technique after learning had higher achievement than before learning at the .05 level of statistically significant difference 3) The effectiveness index of the skill practice packages entitled reading comprehension packages by using cooperative learning CIRC technique equaled 0.6069 which was 60.69 % 4) Prathomsuksa 6 students were satisfactied toward the skill practice packages entitled reading comprehension by using cooperative learning CIRC as a whole at the high level.
