Abstract:
This special project is concerned with the trai~sinissione fficiency simulation modelfor host-terminal system. This model illustrates the emulation of one-way data transfer processfrom a host to multiple terminals (2, 4, 10, 20 and 40 terminals) in order to compare datatransmission efficiency of two distinguished systems, namely "multidrop" and "point-to point"configurations. The model is presented in Graphic User Interface and created by using a"Promodel" application whose parameters are changed for emulation.The model is built on two important hypothesis. Formerly, the transmission of datapacket from a host to any terminal depends upon a random number from uniform distribution.Latterly, there has to be only one data packet rumling in each media channel at any time. Theoutcome of the test is that data transfer of the point-to-point configuration is more efficient thanthe multidrop configuration. This specific project can be used as basics for developing acomplex system model or applying as a test model before using in a real situation.
