Problems and Solution of Student of the In-service Program in Computer Science at Rajabhat Institutions, North-East Region, Acedemic Year 2000, Thailand
Abstract:
The objective of the research was to study the personal and academic problems and solution of the students of the In-service Program in Computer Science at Rajabhat Institutions, North-East Region, Thailand. The research findings were as follows: 1. The educational expenses problem were found to be moderate and 35.70 % of students were unemployed due to economic crisis. The suggested guidelines for solving the problems include provision for educational fund and loan, exemption for tuition fees, students' responsibility for making some payments, employment for some jobs and support for extra incomes. 2. Students had no time to review their lessons and they had a lot of class reports and assignment. Most of their times were wastage with the journey to their institutes for classes. The provision for transportation, residences and for more practical classes to reduce their assignments was the suggested guidelines for solution the problems. 3. There was less difficulty in studying but for some students who has some different background would get some problems. The solution would set preliminary course or part of course before starting present courses.4. The students had problems about insufficient equipment and they paid maintenance fee at higher rate than regular students. The institutions should provide sufficient equipment for them. 5. The relationships of personal and academic problems will be relationships positive pedestal, found that more than 50 percentage of personal problems to effects to academic problems. 6. Students had no relation among themselves and between their groups and regular students. They should be given an opportunity to organize activities together on the basis of teachers guiding and counseling and emphasis on ethical development should be included in the organization of activities.
