Abstract:
This research has the objective to study the problems that can occur from following The Thai accounting standards No. 16 (2015 revision) regarding property, plant and equipment and the factors causing them. Questionnaires are used to collect the data from 400 accountants of listed companies in the Stock Exchange of Thailand and the Market for Alternative Investment. Statistics used include frequencies, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent sample t-test, and one-way ANOVA. This research finds that the problems that can occur from following The Thai accounting standards No. 16 (2015 revision) regarding property, plant and equipment are the problem of valuation measurement after transaction recognition and the practices during the changes. The overall problems are moderate. The hypothesis testing reveals that the demographic factors of age, accounting work experience, training about the Thai Accounting Standards No. 16, and job position affect the problem of valuation measurement after transaction recognition and the practices during the changes, while business characteristic, type of business, registered capital, number of years in the business, size of total assets, and size of property, plant and equipment do not.
