Abstract:
This research aimed to identify and compare work motivation levels of the employees of the Highway Company according to personal factors such as gender, age, education, marital status, years of work and monthly income. The sample consisted of 117 employees and the statistics used for analysis were frequency, percentage, mean (µ), and standard deviation (σ). The study revealed a very high level of work motivation, with that related to relationship with colleagues at the highest level, followed by that related to responsibility, supervision, work environment, achievement, recognition, policy and administration, and payment, respectively. The motivation related to work characteristics and the one related to job promotion were found to be at the lowest levels. The study also revealed a higher level of work motivation among the female employees, among the employees between 46-55 years of age, among the employees with an educationa1 level higher than a bachelors degree, among married employees, among the employees with at least 10 years of work experience, and among those who earn higher than 30,001 baht per month.
