Abstract:
The purpose of this study was two fold.First, it aimed at examining happiness at work among registered nurses working for Nakhon Nayok Hospital. Also, this study attempted to determine factors affecting the level of happiness at work of these nurses. The threefactors of interest in this study included personal, family, and organizational factors. For personal factors, these included age, average monthly income, and work length. Concerning a family factor, it focused on the relationship in family. For organizational factors, they comprised policies and administration, types of work, job advancement, acceptance and respect, work condition, and monthly salary or compensation. The subjects participating in this study were 170 registered nurses who worked for Nakhon Nayok Hospital. The instrument was a questionnaire. To analyze the collected data, the descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, means, and standard deviation was administered. Also, the test of Multiple Regression was used. The results of the study revealed that the level of happiness at work among the subjects was found at a high level. When considering each aspect of happiness at work, the one in relation to the satisfaction in life was rated the highest, followed by the ones relating to job satisfaction, positive emotion, and negative emotion, respectively. While the aspects of job satisfaction and positive emotion were rated at a high level, the one in relation to negative emotion was rated at a moderate level. In addition, it was found that personal, family, and organizational factors were accounted for the level of happiness at work at 63.40%. Specifically, the independent variables in relation to personal, family, and organizational factors had an influence on the level of happiness at work among these registered nurses at a significant level of .05.
